According to Article R5132-86 of the French Public Health Code, only hemp varieties listed in the Common European Catalogue of Varieties of Agricultural Plants and containing less than 0.2% THC may be cultivated in France. Furthermore, only the seeds and fibers of these plants may be used for industrial and commercial purposes.<\/a><\/strong>  <strong>European Regulations on CBD<\/strong>At the European level, the legality of CBD is also governed by several texts. The Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) issued an important ruling in November 2020 concerning the free movement of CBD-containing products within the Union. According to this ruling, CBD-containing products cannot be considered narcotics and are therefore subject to the rules of free movement between Member States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-la-reglementation-francaise-relative-au-chanvre\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"This_CJEU_decision_invalidated_certain_French_provisions_prohibiting_the_marketing_of_products_containing_CBD_extracted_from_the_entire_hemp_plant_including_its_flowers\"><\/span>This CJEU decision invalidated certain French provisions prohibiting the marketing of products containing CBD extracted from the entire hemp plant, including its flowers.<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Requirements for Marketing CBD Products in France <strong>To be legally marketed in France, CBD products must meet certain requirements.<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbd.fr\/198thccbd\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"17\" title=\"thc - t\u00e9trahydrocannabinol\">THC<\/a> Content Less Than 0.2%<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-la-reglementation-europeenne-sur-le-cbd\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_THC_content_of_CBD_products_must_be\"><\/span>The THC content of CBD products must be<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>less than 0.2% <strong>, in accordance with French law. This includes providing analyses certifying the CBD and THC content of the products, as well as complying with French and European standards for labeling, packaging, and manufacturing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-les-exigences-a-respecter-pour-commercialiser-des-produits-a-base-de-cbd-en-france\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Compliance_with_Specific_Regulations_for_Certain_Products\"><\/span>Compliance with Specific Regulations for Certain Products<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Some CBD products are subject to specific regulations.
