Conducted on mice, the study discovered that a key emotional center in the brain, the amygdala, releases endocannabinoid molecules in response to stress. These molecules reduce the stress alarm emitted by the hippocampus, a brain center for memory and emotion, by activating the same brain receptors as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbd.fr\/198thccbd\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"17\" title=\"thc - t\u00e9trahydrocannabinol\">THC<\/a> derived from cannabis plants. <strong>For this study, scientists at Northwestern Medicine used a new protein sensor capable of detecting the presence of these endocannabinoid molecules in real time at specific synapses in the brain.
