Indeed, as this is a first in France, you are certainly wondering how many patients are involved, at least initially. CBD.FR has also asked itself this question. In this regard, our research indicates that the medical cannabis trial program in France will involve 3,000 patients over a two-year period. This is a result of hearings conducted by the ANSM (French National Agency for Medicines and Health Products Safety) to establish the program&#8217;s parameters. It is important to note that to be accepted into the program, patients must have already tried several conventional treatments without success and must not have any contraindications.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, no age limit has been specified. However, these patients will not be allowed to drive during the two-year trial period. Why? Because some medications contain <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbd.fr\/198thccbd\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"17\" title=\"thc - t\u00e9trahydrocannabinol\">THC<\/a>. <strong><\/strong> Moreover, what about the therapeutic indications? In other words, what diseases\/conditions have been selected for this medical cannabis trial in France?<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In fact, a total of five (5) conditions were selected by the scientific committee. These are:<\/li>\n<li>Painful spasticity associated with central nervous system disorders.<\/li>\n<li>Certain severe and drug-resistant forms of epilepsy.<\/li>\n<li>Palliative care situations.<\/li>\n<li>Certain refractory symptoms in oncology.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Neuropathic pain unresponsive to available treatments.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"b\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Furthermore_how_will_prescriptions_work_for_the_patients_concerned_Two_points_are_essential_in_this_regard_First_prescriptions_must_be_written_by_physicians_specializing_in_these_conditions_Second_patients_with_their_prescriptions_must_then_collect_their_cannabis-based_products_from_pharmacies\"><\/span>Furthermore, how will prescriptions work for the patients concerned? Two points are essential in this regard. First, prescriptions must be written by physicians specializing in these conditions. Second, patients with their prescriptions must then collect their cannabis-based products from pharmacies.<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Focus on the products and their suppliers <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbd.fr\/\">In fact, certain forms of cannabis have been selected. These include, among others, oil, flowers, and oral forms. In this regard, the relevant ratios are as follows: predominantly THC, predominantly CBD, or a balanced THC\/CBD ratio. Along these lines, the ANSM (French National Agency for Medicines and Health Products Safety) advises against consuming the flowers in the form of joints. Instead, it recommends using them as infusions.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>What about the suppliers? As we all know, the cultivation of medical cannabis is still prohibited in France. Consequently, the ANSM has selected foreign companies to supply the products necessary for the medical cannabis trial in France. These companies will provide the products free of charge for the duration of the program.<strong><\/strong>A note on product safety: The program&#8217;s leaders are ensuring that all products used are safe for patients. In this regard, two batches of medication have already been recalled due to manufacturing defects.
