Soothing, relaxing, or rich in protein, the purported benefits of legal cannabis (CBD) are numerous. For FoodChéri, the molecule is even considered the ally of tomorrow's food. From January 29th to 31st, the prepared meal delivery platform is offering a complete CBD-infused menu.

Following the success of its insect burgers, FoodChéri, a home and office meal delivery service, is launching a limited-edition menu featuring cannabidiol, or CBD . This natural compound is renowned for its therapeutic properties without producing any psychotropic or intoxicating effects. Relaxing and soothing, several shops in Alsace are already capitalizing on this trend.

Relaxing, but not only that…

A key ingredient in tomorrow's meals or just a passing trend, CBD offers several advantages for consumers. With their #MenuCensuré (Censored Menu), available from January 29th to 31st, the creators of FoodChéri haven't just focused on CBD's therapeutic aspects, offering options like "Zen falafel bowl," "CBD no-stress salad," and "cool cookie." Its nutritional value is equally appealing: " It's a product rich in protein, omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, and it also helps lower cholesterol ," explains Charlène, FoodChéri's communications manager. But this limited-edition CBD menu isn't likely to scare off sellers of derivative products, who see it as a positive sign of its growing popularity.

Various derivatives

The benefits of CBD have already won over some retailers, often We sell oilthose, infusions, capsules , and food supplements, in addition to e-cigarette liquid. There can't be any competition since we're not in the food sector specializing in e-cigarettes, like Messaline, manager of the We Vap' shop in Strasbourg. " ," says Messaline, who has been selling CBD for three years. For Ghinda, co-manager of the Bestown Shop in Strasbourg, " people who buy CBD know its effects; they're often connoisseurs ." But here, the selection isn't quite the same. In addition to juice and chocolate, and even Mister Freeze popsicles, the list of CBD products will soon expand with the arrival of CBD muffins and cookies.

From athletes to the elderly

Like its derivatives, CBD consumers are diverse. At We Vap', vapers, Messaline's primary customers, are numerous in trying CBD. " I also see joint smokers who want to quit and are looking for substitutes, athletes seeking protein, and even elderly people who want to alleviate their pain ," adds Messaline. Athletes are also among FoodChéri's target audience, as co-founder Patrick Asdaghi explains: " They consume CBD derivatives during their athletic recovery."

With the CBD menu, we aim to raise awareness ."

“Investing in the food of tomorrow”

For Patrick Asdaghi, CBD has every chance of finding its way into the " dishes of tomorrow." "Tomorrow's food will take different forms. We've already taken the plunge into plant-based options with ' Veggie Tuesdays.' Hemp production is much more artisanal than that of other plants. It's an organic crop grown through short supply chains. " From a nutritional standpoint, the molecule can also be an alternative for vegetarians or flexitarians. Nutritional and environmental concerns are therefore central to the project.

Whether infused or vaped, Messaline recommends consuming CBD in the evening, so as not to fall asleep at the office…
